    Research

Katrin completed her Diplom in Biology at the University of Braunschweig and did her Ph.D. thesis with Rüdiger Cerff at the Institute of Genetics. She received an EMBO longterm fellowship for two years to work on hydrogenosomes in the group of Miklos Müller at the Rockefeller University in New York. She had a short stint in the group of Patricia Johnson at UCLA and since 2000 she is heading an independent research programme on hydrogenosomes in anaerobic protists here in Düsseldorf.
