Welcome to the Institute of Botany III at Heinrich-Heine-Universität Düsseldorf. Our main scientific interests are endosymbiosis, cell evolution, genome evolution and compartmentalized energy metabolism with emphasis on chloroplasts, mitochondria, and hydrogenosomes.
